Description
A mid-April trip to Colonial Williamsburg, VA, especially if you're coming from parts north, always gives you a delicious taste of the season to come. There may still be snow on the ground at home, but here, flowers are blooming, tree buds are in that lovely pinky stage, and birdies are singing. A bouquet of periwinkle poppies (or are they anemones?) bursting forth from the good dark earth of one of the many gardens makes you stop in your tracks for a closer look. Each petal catches the afternoon light in a different way, their pretty black eyes fringed with dark and coy lashes, seem to be flirting with you as they bat in the gentle spring breezes.
Image very loosely based on a photo I took in Colonial Williamsburg, April 2018, and digitally hand-painted in Corel Painter 2018.
This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
