Joyce is a self-taught artist. Joyce spent early years writing and illustrating stories for her children. She has also illustrated for two other authors. When time allowed, she began to explore watercolor and acrylic painting. As she began painting, she grew bored with realistic settings and found herself attracted to the brighter colors and whimsical subjects.
