I like to explore, especially remote and/or abandoned places. Southeastern New Mexico, where I currently live, is full of such lost worlds, from Pre-colonial civilizations to the remnants of communities gutted by the dust bowl. These places, and the people who inhabited them, excite my romantic (and sometimes morbid) imagination. I started taking photographs as a way to focus my eye on the unexpected beauty of the traces of these lives, and, because I’m sometimes pleased with the results, I decided to share some of them here.more
