Description
The day I arrived at a most stunning home a stone’s throw from Lake George, on the property I found this peaceful scene of the red chair near a small, natural pool with a bubbler in action. The sound was so soothing and inviting that I had to sit for a short time. The red against a multitude of greens vibrated, yet it was most attractive. This painting is a studio version of the Plein Air piece I completed at the time of our visit here. One in our group of friends came down to the scene and sat in the chair for a moment and then spotted me painting. I know what he had in mind. He’s a reader and wanted this spot for his own to fill his head with silliness from his poor choice of reading material. But my idea for this choice spot was to make something beautiful to look at and it certainly did not include him!
