Description
Who knows what may have gotten away or crept into this place. A couple weeks ago I was out for a drive after a snow storm. I was on McBurney Road when I saw this barn and small outbuilding about 150 yards off the road. The large structure looked sound, square and not leaning at all it seemed to me. Looking furthering between the wild, small trees and tangle of vines and weeds, I saw that the barn doors were wide open and there were piles of “stuff” all around. This was not a very appealing site but the bright highlights, interesting blue shadows and peeks through the trees of the background called me to paint them. The other two large upward pointing arrows (the shadow sides of the buildings) also drew my attention to the subtle dark textures I found there. Snow does a fine job of making an eyesore, sometimes, a thing of beauty! Oil on canvas panel. Copyright Bill Finewood. All rights reserved.
